March 10, 2010

It's been a few weeks since I posted... Sorry, we've been busy. I didn't realize how many people have been keeping up with everything through this blog. So Joe and Phyllis, this is for you. Mom is feeling great and is keeping us on the go. Well, since my last post there has been a lot going on! I bought a house. It'll be a little while before I get the chance to move in, but hopefully, by May or June I'll be able to get packed up and move. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work as the athletic trainer for the Preston boys' basketball team and Mom and Dad came right along with me to all the home games. We also made a trip to Fairmont last Friday and then Wheeling last night for regional games. The Knights were unable to pull off a win, but it was a great season and I feel fortunate to have been able to work with the team and get to know the boys. Last Saturday, Justin and Allison made a trip up to visit, as well. Now that basketball season is over, we'll have to find something else to get us out of the house.

Mom had another treatment on Friday and is still feeling great! I didn't make it to this appointment because we finally had to go back to school after the blizzard delivered a few feet of snow. In addition to chemo, she also saw Dr. Torres and Dr. Haut. Both were quite pleased with her progress and positive attitude! Dr. Torres dropped back the dosage of one of her steroid again, so she's down to taking it just once a day. The cards and meals are still coming in and we are very grateful for that.

The snow is melting and it would appear that spring is on it's way. It will be nice to have the warmer temperatures and be able to get outside again. It's been a long, cold winter. I believe that is about all the happenings with us for the time being. Please continue to remember Mom and our family in your prayers. Thanks for all your concern and prayers. Enjoy the springtime and prepare your hearts and minds for the coming Easter season! Let us not forget the great sacrifice made on our behalf.
