June 10, 2010

Tomorrow will be two weeks since Mom's gamma knife procedure. While we haven't necessarily seen any improvements, she hasn't experienced any of the side effects they told us she may have. We're thankful every day for God's blessings as Mom is doing well and "feels GREAT!" most days. Today we went to the Health Fair at the Albright Power Station which is usually a fun time. This year was no exception. We get to see lots of Dad's current and former co-workers and this year was extra special since they've taken such great care of us this past year. We were even entertained by Brenda Howard's fishing stories! We missed the health fair last year, as Mom and Dad were taking me to the airport for my trip to Texas. Next week will be the one-year anniversary of Mom's seizure while subsequently led to the detection of her brain tumor and cancer. It's hard to believe it's already been a year.

In other news, school is finally out for summer! My renters should be moving into their new home any day now and we'll be busy painting and moving. Mom will get to be the supervisor and if she's good we might let her do some painting, if she takes frequent breaks!

Tomorrow Mom will have her weekly labs and she'll also begin the next 21-day course of Timodar.

  • It is hard to believe it has been a year. What a lot happens in a year when you are paying attention. Usually they just slip by unnoticed...but you have learned in this year to live each moment as the precious gift that it is meant to be from a generous God.
